Early in the fourth quarter, Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden was knocked down accidently by a teammate. After being struck in the head by Patriots defender Calvin Munson while tackling Packers receiver Malik Heath, Bolden remained motionless on the ground.
As both teams took a knee, medical staff raced to Bolden. Matthew Slater led both teams’ players in prayer. Bolden was finally placed on a backboard and stretchered off the field.
According to the Patriots, Bolden “had feeling in all of his extremities, but has been taken to a local hospital for further tests and observation.” After Bolden departed the field, Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Packers coach Matt LaFleur huddled with officials, and the game was called with 10:29 remaining in the fourth quarter.
“Upon mutual agreement of the teams, tonight’s game between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers has been suspended,” the teams announced.
Bolden has obviously made huge steps towards full recovery after sharing a message on X (formerly Twitter), although it’s not clear exactly when he can play again, but he could not hide his excitement at being back with the guys, as well as appreciating everyone that prayed for him.
Appreciate the prayers more excited to be back with the guys
