Rasul Douglas and the Green Bay Packers kicked off the 2023 season with a 38-20 victory over the Chicago Bears. The outspoken Douglas was all grins after the dominant Green Bay win, dapping all of his teammates in the tunnel as they marched off the field.
The comment apparently refers to a prior quote from Douglas in which he said that both Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre enjoyed 30-year streaks of success against the Bears during their time in Green Bay. While Douglas’ math may be a little off, it is true that Green Bay has dominated the rivalry in recent years building up to Sunday’s game.
Perhaps even more amazing about Green Bay’s triumph on Sunday was the fact that not only was it on the road, but also their first game after Aaron Rodgers’ retirement. Rodgers, who was sold to the New York Jets last summer, has a lengthy history of dominating the Bears throughout his career.
The Packers will try to make it 2-0 against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
